they mentioned it to me when i got my oil change on friday but i said i'll come back because it'll take them 3-4 hours. they need to shave down the pedal. you should get your car back on the same day if you schedule an appointment.

Id like to add a question to this thread that I call, "Name That Sound"!

I had the pedal recall done last wednesday when the dealership had my Runner for the day to have some routine maintenence done.

Now whenever i start up the truck, put it into drive and touch the accelerator pedal, a couple seconds goes by and i hear a clicking sound, and it seems to be coming from inside the dash or just inside the engine compartment near the firewall...as if somthing is coming on, regulating or just being activated. There's no loss of power or anything.

Anyone wanna take a stab at it?

I have not had the recall procedure done yet, but the single click noise has always been there since I've had the vehicle. Click only heard after being in park then pressing accelerator in fwd or reverse. I think it has something to do with the pedal sensitivity. I too, am curious of this noise. Everything seems to be working fine.

i did it the other day. all they did was cut the accellerator about .5 to .75 inch and added floor hooks for the factory mat if you didnt already have some. took them 3 hours because the dumb ass tech took lunch!!!!!!!! i was pissed to say the least and let them have it. i notice no difference in driving

I've had that noise since day one, so it has nothing to do with the recall work. I'm pretty sure it's the brake booster coming up to pressure.

Well, for the record our '03 Sport doesnt do any of that. However, i will admit the "booster" for the brake is a lot louder in the '03, and turns on a lot more often than it does in the '08.

I see a couple design changes in the "guts" of the 03 vs 08 Runners.

I even have more leg-room in the '03, but i chalk that up to the power seat (in the '08) vs. non-power seat (in the '03)

did the pedal look ok after the alteration, does it look like a professional job or butcher job?

got mine done and took about 4 hours. Please note that every dealer will be different as far the time it takes (no of techs available, how busy they are on a certain day etc) Be smart, call and ask them when the best times are to get the quickest turn around.

Also note that, If you drop it off close to lunch time, it is perfectly normal for the tech to take lunch....

i had an appointment made for that day and time for the specific recall work to be done made 2 days ahead of time. they shouldnt have taken lunch. it was a 30 minute job as i was told when i made the appointment and when i got there
