Recommanded tires by Manufacturers

My stock tire came flat on the graveled dir road in the first week of the purchase. 2016 TE.
I think to replace all tires with all terrain for the light off-road( gravel, some exposure rock etc).

From this forum, many showed the all terrain ko2.

Here are some searches of 4 runner tires recoomanded from MFG.

Bridgestone : A/T REVO2
A/T RH-S
A/T 693 II
None of those are not fairly reviewd on this forum.

BFG: Long trail T/A Tour
This is not a all-terrain .


Michelin: LTX a/t2
This is explained for the gravel road purposes)


Goodyear: Wrangler AT/s
Wrangler Armor Trac
Wrangler Dura Trac
Wrangler with Kevlar.

Many t4r owners look like highly appraising BFG ko2 which the manufacturer never recommend.

At Costco, They follow those Mfg's recommendation charts.
Maybe do I go to the local dealers for not recommended tires ?
Or only best from the recommendation ?
Maybe thisis a safety matter. I talked BFG the answer was KO2 tires are not recommended for T4R.
However the Goodyear shows many tires for 4runners.

The General Grabber AT2 is also a decent choice. Very similar tread pattern to the BFG KO, 60,000 mile tread life, and about 2/3 the price. I had about 45,000 on a set when I cut a side wall earlier this year. I replaced that axle's pair and comparing to the older 2 I am really happy with the wear.

Who cares what anyone else recommends, go with whatever tire you like.


If you insist on going by the "recommended tires", out of that list, I'd go with either the Revo 2 or the LTX AT2. I've never been impressed by anything from Goodyear.
