New the the forum and interested in ordering a '14 4runner TE premium. After trying to search for a previous post on this wit no luck, I thought I'd post. Any dealer recommendations in the DC/MD/VA aread would be very much appreciated. Certainly open to PA, and the Carolinas for the right dealer. Thx in advance.

I don't like a lot of Mickey Mouse with the price , so I look for a dealer that advertises the real price. Check the cars.com phone app. That's a good place to start.

I'd recommend Steven Toyota in Harrisonburg VA. Have not bought from them but they have treated me awesome in the service dept. Ryan Sodikoff and his brother are GMs there and really good people.

Call Jeff Haskins at Jim Barkley Toyota in Asheville NC. (You said the Carolinas are an option) They have no hassle/best price pricing and with the volume they sell they're hard to beat!

This past November we bought from Koons. Did a lot of internet shopping before calling dealers. At that time Koons had a much better inventory of 2014s than the other dealers.

I visited several dealers before visiting Koons. (I don't buy often and wanted to warm up - and if I found a good deal I wouldn't pass it up.) The other dealers used tricks to get the price lower - incentives which I didn't qualify for - and then once I was there added the incentives back onto the price. The advertised price at Koons was better and I didn't get the game playing that I got at other dealers.

Two thing to note - there are five Koons Toyota dealer locations (3 x MD, 2 x VA). I visited two Koons locations. One was better than the other. Go to the web site and figure out which location has the vehicle you want. They are likely to give you a better deal if it is on their lot than if they have to swap with another dealer, even another Koons dealer.

The other dealer I really liked was Bill Kidd's Timonium. The guy I was dealing with on the phone was good. I also liked the fact they were not open on a Sunday. Seems like a more civil place to work if you have a family - having 1 day per weekend off. The timing just didn't work out with them.

Younger Toyota in Hagerstown, MD was great to me. A smaller family owned dealership with great customer service. I worked with JC and got my 2010 Limited CPO for cheaper then every SR5 listed in the DC area.

CarMax

I have been very happy with CarMax in Laurel, MD. I feel that their prices are the cheapest and the service is great. I hate all of the hidden crap and they don't have that there. Got sick of dealers calling and e-mail me about buying. CarMax can't give discounts, but they ordered me the T4R I wanted for no charge. Ask for Steve...he is the number 1 salesperson in USA and knows his SH*T!

I bought my '14 Limited from Antwerpen in Clarksville, MD and my sales guy was James Braxton. He beat the offers I had from Koons and Russell and went to Hagerstown to pick up my truck once we settled on the number. I paid $38,750 +T&T. Mag Grey '14 no third row, no running boards but everything else. Oh, and I got the leatherette portfolio for the owner's manuals! (inside joke)
You should call James and tell him that Steve S. sent you and at the very least get his best number for the truck you want. The store number there is 410-531-5700. PM me if you have any other questions or if you want his cell phone number. Good luck!

Koons - Arlington

When I bought my 2012 I used the Koons in Arlington. They had the model/color/options/etc... I wanted on the lot, and had the best price in the DC area. Still had to go through the standard new car kobuki dance and remind them the price they had posted on-line was the price I was going to pay...

Brown's Toyota - Glen Burnie, MD

Purchased mine from Browns Toyota in Glen Burnie, MD. Did a quite extensive search online and had an online quote from Brown's. Koons Tyson's Corner had the blue Trail, so I started my search there hoping they would price match. Test drove, went in to negotiate, showed them Brown's email and online ad. Manager came back and said that their advertised price was below invoice, suggested that it must be damaged or a demo. They said that they wouldn't even attempt to match and to take my business there. I have never been to a dealership where I was basically told that they didn't want my business. Went to Brown's and met with their online salesperson, Ciera Caldwell, paid their advertised price for a clean new trail with 7 miles on the odo. Paid $33,000 for a trail with navi, and steps (also had them throw in roof rack x-bars, rubber mats, and bug shield at no cost)

I would stay away from Koons Tyson's Corner.

I know a few who have done well at browns in glen burnie. I bought my 03 at Carmax laurel. It was so fresh off the truck that they didn't have time to put their cheesy sticker on it.
