Recommendation for Kansas City shop to install struts?

I need struts, and have decided to go with Bilstein HDs after reading positive reviews. I will buy the parts, and take them to be put on.

Do the KC area guys have a shop recommendation? It seems like I have to find a new shop every 4 or 5 repairs. It starts out okay, then the repairs take a long time, sloppy work, or the prices get a little steep. I try to stay positive and give the benefit of the doubt, but I'm ready to try a new place.

The last time I had struts done on a Honda van, the bill was about $300, and I had to get it aligned. About $125 to remove the right and left side assembly, $125 to take apart and reassemble with new struts, and $50 for shop rags and tax. I took it to a dealer, where it was aligned with no fuss.

Any advice you can give on a shop would be appreciated. I'm on the west side of town, near the Speedway. But I'll drive a ways for quality work.

Look for a shop in a small town. I live close to Emporia, Kansas and the shops in my area work with me to get me what I want, not what they think I want. My son even travels to Emporia from where he lives in Wichita to get work done. This is for two reasons---The labor is cheaper and the shops are ones that you can get to know the owners and mechanics. I have a local shop that is the best that I can say, that helped me put new struts and springs in on my 97 Toyota and even did an alignment. I brought them the parts and they charged me fairly for the labor. By the way 95 miles is really not all that far.

Just so you know, I drive that far to just have fun, so I am tainted that way.

Hey talk to the guys at the Kc meet and greet.

I can't make it but I believe it's nov 7 That 5pm at the sonic drive in off Barry road and I-29. (Closer to congress).

Talk to these guys and maybe they will help you do it at their house . Id be willing to if I was not on vacation.

But I would also recommend my shop. "Daves Foreign Car Repair" Great small town shop in Parkville mo, Off 45 highway. Price is high for a small shop but work is great. If Interested contact Roger or Dave (roger is the service writer and mainly answers the phone). 816-741-1498. I believe the alignments are $80. But not real sure.

Great guys just talk with them and let them know exactly what you want. If you end up talking with Dave he is the owner and a friendly guy. Owned the shop for over 30 years.

Thanks for the recommendations. All of these are good possibilities, I just need to figure out which one is the simplest one to get to for drop off and pick up.

Is it only necessary to check alignment the 4Runner after removing and re-installing the front struts? I am used to front wheel drive vehicles, which always require alignment after this service.
