Curious...what paper air filters are people using? Stick with Oem or is there a better aftermarket? Thanks...

I'm using TrueFlow air filter. They claim it's a lifetime filter, but then again they aren't in business anymore.

I have the stock type paper fram in one and a k&n in the other, no difference in the two if you ask me, except cost and occasional maf cleaning with the kn. I'd just stick with an oem type.

A good quality paper type.
I'm running a Wix right now.
I ran a K&N drop in for years. I got tired of cleaning it and the amount of dirt that passed thru it was frightening. I pulled it, tossed it and then removed the entire intake and cleaned it. That is when I dropped in the Wix.

Ive been a long time purchaser of WIX products but the most recent one I bought didn't fit quite right. I recommend just staying with OEM or WIX.

Puralator and fram probably are decent as well.

I would just stick with the OEM filter. Cheap and abundant, and you never have to question silica particulate levels in your oil. I have raced motorcycles for several years and this is always a topic of debate using a high flow filter and its benefits over the OEM filters. The problem is the fact that bike engines are not made to do 300k+ miles and are torn down fairly regularly, so higher levels of silica through the motors was acceptable. Also these are race bikes and live their lives at the redline and sacrificing longevity for every HP. This isn't really the case in a vehicle which is not a high performance power house. Save some money and just toss the old ones, cleaning the high flow ones can be annoying.

Thanks all for the responses....OEM seems like the winner, with WIX being a preferred aftermarket. I have a K&N on my FJ62 but never liked the maintenance, so the 4runner will get the OEM. Thanks again!
