recommended plugs/ wires

Just wondering if there is a recommended company as far as plugs/wires go? I know with Hondas NGK or Denso are recommended... not sure about Toyotas tho

I run NGK dual ground plugs and NGK blue wires on all of my 3rd Gens. Always bought from Amazon until I found out Advance Auto price matches. And Amazon always has them free shipping so it's a straight price match.
 
I was thinking this ran off a distributor...lol.. i was wondering why the hell there was only 3 wires .. ok, thanks guys.. time to shop around online...
 
The 3 plugs in the passenger side has head-on-coil type units. So those 3 plugs do not need plug wires. Distribution is done by the engine ECU. No rotor.
 
I went with Toyota plugs and NGK blue wires
Plugs from Toyota were $31.93... wires were $37 shipped from importrp.com.. i had $50 in gift cards so it was only $18 out of pocket
 
Just finished this an hr ago. NGK dual electro plugs (BKR5EKB-11) and NGK blue wires (TE 66). Got everything for $64 at Advanced Auto. Wires are numbered so its easy to do. Even had a broken connection in one of the boots, it still only took maybe an hr.
 
Its funny... when i went into the Toyota parts department (love going there, cute parts girl).. told her i needed plugs for a 02 4Runner.. she asked what engine, so i told her the only one available... she argued that the 2.7 was available in 02 as well... lol.
 
Two posts above call for OEM wires. The OEM wires on 3G are Sumitomo's and not available in US (they have the year on the insulation). Just because US dealers sell Denso, does NOT make them OEM.

Both NGK and Denso are OEM plugs and either is fine. NGK and Denso wires are also both fine.
 
I didn't know the Sumitomo were stock...thats what I just took out. If those were the original, they were still in good shape for being 15 yrs old with 180k on them. Except for the one that broke internally of course.

The brand new wires I just got from Toyota about 4 months ago say "Sumitomo" on them.

here are mine, marked "sumitomo" with 2011, so they are "OEM".

Well whatya know. Maybe mine were replaced. I know the PO changed the plugs (single electrode) right before I bought it, but he must have done the wires too.
