I am finally selling my 92 4-cyl 4Runner. I am trying to understand the wide difference between Kelley Blue Book and other ads I see listed. KBB lists value as about $1000 where I am seeing similar 4Runners for around $4,000. Here is the description and the pluses and minuses of the vehicle; I would appreciate any comments regarding the bottom line negotiated sale price I should accept.
Description: White 92 4-cyl with 241,000 miles. Very basic model, no AC, and originally had no radio but now has an aftermarket radio with cassette player. I am the original owner and have kept up with oil changes and maintenance. Last few years it has been my daughter's college car but she has now bought something newer.
Pluses: Body and interior generally in excellent condition with most everything functional. I would not hesitate to take this car on a 2000 mile drive. 3 of 4 tires in great shape, one a bit worn on one side. Head gasket replaced in September 2014.
Minuses:
1.Minor mostly cosmetic left front bruise but it does cause wheel to catch when cranked to extreme left. Couple of dings on rear bumper.
2. Mechanics inspection list torn CV boot, ball joints worn and have play, crack in windshield about 10 long but likely to spread, valve cover has small leak and valves are noisy- adjust and replace gasket and about 3mm left on brakes.
