Recovery options for front and back

I've searched thru the threads and see options for a front hitch receiver, which I'm not sure I want to spend the money on.

Where do I find bolt on recovery options for the front and back stock bumpers? I have an '05 which has the tie-downs, and I understand they can stay in place .

For the rear, I went with the two hitch shackle mount. Haven't had a chance to test it yet but it seems like if you had to get pulled out from the rear or two someone else out, that would be the best option without adding additional frame mounts.

I think the rear recovery point preferred is your standard receiver hitch. Just be sure to use one of the bow shackle type inserts and not your tow ball. I hear those can snap and become a wicked projectile.

For the front I've been looking too. I did find a thread on here a while back where somebody was making some "custom" 4th Gen tow points. There's a big threaded insert on the side of the frame rail a few inches back from our stock tie-down points in the front. It bolted on there and I think had an extra bracket that ran somewhere else nearby to another point. They looked beefy (maybe 1/2" plate steel).

I've got an '06 and everyone says these stock points aren't for recovery. I've seen the earlier ones that were mostly straight, thinner, and attached to one very sketchy stretch of frame rail. The ones on mine and later are at least 1/2" diameter and attached much better. Would I try and lift the truck into the air from a single point.....no. But using a bridle between the pair I'd have no reservations being pulled out of the worst stuck I can imagine.

Front you can just use the hoops that are already there.

I've spent loads of time yanking [MENTION=117408]Oneluv13T4R[/MENTION] around using the hoops on his front and I doubt they've bent. Last time took me about 5 pulls before I got him out of the hole he was in too.

For recovery from the front, I use shackles hooked to the factory points (see red circles in first pix attached below). The "legs" go through the frame and are welded on both sides and have been robust enough thus far.

For rear, I was able to get in on Inv4drZm's custom solution (link: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/group...ear-recovery-point-group-buy.html#post2610210). See second pix. Before this...
