Yeah, don't run red lights! :

I actually got a ticket for speeding threw one of those, what did I learn? Don't speed threw the damn intersection..

since they have a picture of your truck, send them back a picture of the money..
argue that a picture is not prima facie evidence as it merely depicts the position of the truck at that time. they don't have proof of the truck actually going through the red. for all they know you are parked and broken down.

I beleive after you mail them a picture of the money, they will mail you a picture of handcuffs.

There are 2 pictures taken when you run the light. One of you running the light and one of your plate. The cameras are calibrated, and as stated early the 2 pictures are timed with position. Therefore your speed is clocked and recorded as you run the light.

Last year I was going to work about 5:30am and the intersectin cameras really lite up the place. We have video vans in Oregon that can park anywhere I guess. Found myself doing 5+ over, still wondering every day I get the mail.

I feel your pain. It's a huge money making scam here in New Orleans and there are law suits pending. Like everything else in New Orleans there is always something in it for the city. Here, the company installs the cameras for free but take a % of whats collected. Turns out to be millions a year. Recently the city was accused of altering the timing of the cameras by fractions of a second. They have this crap down to a science. reducing the timing of the yellow to red by fractions even hundreths of a second generates XXX amount of dollars for the city. Scam all around. If you are at a intersection and move off to the right to allow emergency vehicles to pass through.... SNAP your getting one in the mail. Only saving grace is since a live person (cop) didn't see you do it, it's treated like a parking ticket (i.e. no criminal charges for not paying) I had a two and REFUSED to pay based on the city current law suit. Car was registered out of state and recently sold the car. Let 'em chase that plate around for a while !! Here in Raleigh NC the companys get a % for operating costs and the rest goes to the city for education and schools. Makes me feel a little better that running that red light is buying kids computers!!

Here in CA, my friend got a red-light ticket. He got a picture in the mail that had 3 angles of his vehicle. One from the front, where you can clearly read his license plate and even see him good enough to identify he was driving the vehicle. 2nd angle was from more of the top, as he drove under the camera and a 3rd was from the back, where you can clearly read his back license plate too. It was more than $300.

And the ***** of it is that the light turned red, the moment his front bumper hit the white line entering the intersection. As long as your bumper breaks this line before red, you're OK.

Try to angle the plate more straight up and down. Also with those covers be prepared for the law to pull you over at will.
