I did see the $56/can for the Toyota 75 stuff. Need two cans so $112.
For what it’s worth, I called the local Toyota dealership and asked him what they used. Said they use 75/90 on differentials AND transfer case.
Said they usually use synthetic but the brand varies. My guess is whatever they can get the best price on. Ie. Nothing fancy
So straight from the dealer, they are using 75/90 on huge numbers of Toyota’s and as far as I am aware, there haven’t been huge numbers of castostrophic transfer case failures to coincide.
Another thought, I have a hard time believing that Toyota transfer cases are so fragile, they can only use one type of fluid (apparently made with unicorn tears based on the price).
I guess maybe call your local dealership and ask them what they use. After hearing that, I’m using Mobil 1 syn 75/90. To each there own, but I personally feel paying $112 for Toyota fluid is unecessary.
