Redline MT-90 in Canada?

Has anyone found a good place to get this stuff in Canada? All I'm seeing is performance improvements at 30 bucks a quart.

I'm buying it from a local performance shop. Call around the auto part stores / performance shops and see if you get better deals.

I got my local "Territorial Auto Parts" to bring it in. Around $20 per bottle if I recall.

I have since switched to Amsoil GL4 which seems to work better in my transmission, and it's cheaper, and easier to get here. I wouldn't be afraid to try Amsoil unless you know otherwise.

Got my supplies here: Precision Tuning Motorsports

They had both the redline MT90 and the GL5 75W90 for the diffs for $20/quart. Shipping was reasonable on 9 quarts and it arrived in a few days.

Lordco

Just trying to get my post count up lol. But I have seen this at Lordco recently.
I am the least brand loyal DIY mechanic there is and I have to say I was very impressed with how my 5-speed Manual SR5 shifts after switching to MT-90. I had no reason to complain before the change and I didn't really expect any difference but what a difference. I didn't even know my vehicle could shift smoother.

Have you considered checking Lordco or local performance shops in your area for Redline MT-90 in Canada, as suggested by some forum members?

I've always used MT-90, since around 1999, across several Toyota 4WD vehicles.
A little over a year ago, I had some trans work done. The trans shop refilled with common 75W-90 GL-5.
The GL-5 ("synthetic") works fine and no disimprovement has yet been noticed. Next change I'm going to use Mobil 1 GL-5 or some other "synthetic" GL-5. YMMV, of course.

We where always told to never use GL5 in a manual trans because it is corrosive to brass coloured parts, especially synchro's. Ive run a cheaper GL4 in my mitsu for a decade, and GM synchromesh, then switched to MT90 a decade ago and it was like I had swapped the trans out for a different one, no more notchy shifts at 7000rpms+ on a 6 puck clutch disk. Never thought a fluid swap would have such a drastic improvement.

Sure, but that hasn't been an issue for 30 years and probably longer. Any modern GL5 will be safe for synchros. That said, GL4 fluid is often better to use in an MT, just because it can 'focus' on performance in that area...

But... all Subaru MTs and Celica Alltracs share fluid between differentials and synchros and use GL5 fluid with no ill effects. Both are helped by bending the rules and putting in a bit (0.5-1 quart) of synchromesh in there to help with shifting performance.

True if you are using synthetic GL5, if its conventional it has double the sulphur EP additives and can cause premature wear on syncros and poor shifting which also leads to premature wear. In my AWD mitsu it has a centre diff aswell, and separate transfer case. Personally I just use the recommended fluids, from 1990 to 2015 mitsu/EVO they recommend GL4 for this reason.
