redrunner02 build thread

Ok I'll talk with my Fiance and figure out a good day. I'm sure SantaCruzRunner would come over as well and help.

Removed my running boards! Really easy and didn't have to look at threads on how to do it, I'm still awaiting to install the lift kit!

Just got my Aero grill! I like the metallic silver coating but I'm thinking of painting it black.

What a difference removing the running boards does! haha Yea I agree, I think the grille would look better black for sure. Im from the Bay area too, Concord actually. I live in Chico now for school. If Im back home when you set up a day to put the lift on, Id be more than happy to help. I don't know much, and got A LOT of help from other members puttting my lift on, but I'll do what I can :)

I agree I feel like I can breath without the running boards lol thanks I appreciate that I could use all the help I can get! And i def am going with black on the grille

My loss is possibly your gain

Alright well I have gotten plenty of complaints from my family about having trouble getting into the 4runner without the boards so after much ear chewing I'm putting them back on and will be selling my sliders sometime next at a low price so keep a lookout for that dudes, it sucks but whatever I do need to have my runner short people friendly.

Don't sell your sliders. Just lay them flat if anything and they work just fine as a step. You could even go as far as putting some plating between the legs. It's worth it and your running boards will get destroyed when wheeling.

I'll play around with it and see if I can make it work, or i may just remove my boards everytime i do go wheeling or something but ill keep you guys updated on that

my g/f complains every time getting into my stock 4runner, i told her she better be ready for bigger tires and 3" lift

cant you put a insert in your sliders to make a step? maybe only certain brands have that... not sure

haha like a champ,
im not sure but if not ill sell them and get one with a kickout

I vote you keep them though and put some grip tape on them. Ive seen quite a few people on here use them as a step. What kind of sliders are they? If you do decide for sure you want to sell them, I may be interested :)

Super excited!
The next time I post in my thread it will be with Either

1.Outdoor logic bumper installed w or w/o sliders
2. Retrofitted headlights installed
3. Ultimate lift kit installed
4. Grill painted black
it'd be nice if it was all 4 but stuff takes time

sliders + grip tape = super strong running boards.
