refinishing my bumpers and flares

The bumpers, flares and spoiler on my Titanium metallic 2005 are in horrendous condition. I primed and painted the spoiler over the weekend (in semi-gloss black) and it turned out great.

Now I'm trying to decide what to do on the bumpers and flares. Don't want to pay someone to spray them, but don't think my painting skills will turn out well if I try to match the original color.

I'm thinking about SEM Bumper Coater in black for both bumper and flares. Any thoughts on the product from those who have used it? Opinions on whether to do the door cladding as well also welcome (see photoshopped versions). The base photos are old. The running boards are gone now.

Hey man im going through the same issues with my silver 04, a few months back I plastidipped the front fenders, (not the back because straight lines with plastidipped can be tough) and I like how it turned out and It holds up really well. But now ALL of my plastic is very much so fading and I'm in a similar position because I don't feel comfortable doing paint matching myself either, but I don't really like the idea of all black cladding that much, especially with plastidip which I'd probably have to redo every few years. So I've been thinking a lot lately about just doing the whole truck in like a grey line-x cause it's a cheap and highly durable alternative to paint but it's very permanent and I don't trust my painting nor masking skills that much. So to say the least I'm really interested in whatever decision you come to!!

I'll probably leave the door cladding alone. It's nowhere near as bad as my flares and bumper. Going to talk to the SEM dealer tomorrow to get their thoughts on which product to use. I'm getting tired of looking at my hideous flares every day. May go a dark smoke color instead of black. Fortunately my daughter is a photo editing wizard so I can see what it looks like.

This is my Xterra a couple of years after I did everything that’s black with DupliCokor Trim & Bumper paint. I followed the directions exactly, using their cleaner and adhesion promoter before the finish coats. It looked great and was durable. Before painting, all that stuff was various faded shades of gray.

I'm assuming that was black plastic to begin with. DO you think the product would work on a painted bumper?

It was black plastic, yes. Not sure how well it would do on a painted surface.
