Reinstalling my running boards - hardware question

Well, I removed my running boards a couple years ago because I suffered road debris damage (gotta love f'ing tire shreds all over the roads), which took out some of my driver's side board.

I love how it looks without them - my wife does not. She also has a hard time getting in and out. To make MY life easier, I got another set, and am going to reinstall them.
My question is this: I have 12 bolts (obviously) - 6 bolts about 3" long, and 6 more about 2" long (I don't have them in view right now, and those lengths are approximate). Can anyone tell me which screws go where? I'm assuming 3 short and 3 long for each side. But where exactly should they be installed?
I know I should have paid more attention when I removed mine, and I unfortunately can't find an IPB for them.

I just took mine off last month (an 05), and there were 12 bolts all about 1 1/4", maybe an 1 1/2" at the most, but all are the same length. You may have the wrong bolts?

took mine (2006) off yesterday, the ones on the front and rear were 1.5", although the ones in the middle support were slightly shorter, like 1.25". none of them were 2"+, that's for sure.

I agree. They were short bolts. I *think* they would be M8-1.25 bolts because that's what seems to be used a lot on the truck. I might have them in the garage somewhere if you really need to find the size.

That's the reason I screwed my bolts back into the holes they came out of....just incase anyone ever wanted to reinstall them should I ever sell. I figured I'd misplace them too.

Won't help you now, but might give someone else the same idea later.

I wound up placing the longer bolts in the outboard holes, and the shorter ones in the inboard holes.

The odd thing is, several here have said their rb bolts were the same size. Mine (original) AND the bolts I got with the running boards I bought second hand, were different sizes. I unintentionally overestimated the bolt lengths in the first post, however, they are two different sizes on mine, and the other guy's runner.

I still have my original boards (and bolts), which I'm saving for maybe a paint, undercoat, or plastidip project.
