Reliable Mechanic or Dealership Along the Front Range?
Long time reader, first time poster. Everyone's worst nightmare, right?
I was born and raised on Toyotas. My dad has his 1982 4X4 SR5 Hi-Lux, which he took off the factory floor, and managed to put only 65K on the odometer. Still has the original clutch and was the vehicle I learned to drive a manual transmission with. :driving:
I have my 1992 4X4 SR5 Pickup with >250k on the odometer. I have done a full head gasket rebuild, clutch, CVs and just about everything else myself.
Here is the real meat of my post:
My wife and I recently moved to Colorado, Palmer Lake specifically. If you're lazy and don't know where that is and don't want to look it up, I am approximately 30 minutes north of Colorado Springs.
We bought a 2003 4Runner with a V8 and 88K on the odometer to replace my 99 Camry. The Runner now reads ~93K and I have no records of a timing belt being done. Now, I would be more than happy to do the job myself, but much of my "specialty" tools are back at my dad's house in California. I have just my handheld tool box to do basic repairs and maintenance, such as oil changes etc..
My question is if any of you Front Range folk have a reliable mechanic or dealership I can take the Runner to, so the Timing Belt can get swapped out? Distance is not an issue. I will drive anywhere from Pueblo up to Denver and beyond if it means the job is going to be done right the first time and at a reasonable rate.
