Hi all,
Went to do a little rust checking before winter season, Then I saw huh there is a lot of space here, then realized the spare tire wasn't anywhere to be found! I Googled apparently there have been a few cases of this before. and they were all 4th gens. apparently 2001-2004 Taco's got some related recall but not us? Some how the hold down pin is still there, but maybe when they checked the spare tire, it wasn't put back up correctly. No idea.
In any case I thought I'd suggest people to take down there spare tire,
check your tire pressure, degrease the entire area (especially if you are in the salt belt)
fluid film the crap out of everything, lube the spare tire cable. and put everything back
I'll bump this thread at the end of season for everyone to take the spare tire remove the extra salt.
Thanks all
