Remote Rear Window

I have installed a code alarm system and want to use the trunk release function to lower the back window. I found two wires at the switch that seem to run the window, I think they are red and red/black. Both have a constant 12v. Red/black drops to ground when the window goes down and the red drops to ground when the window is going up. Will simply placing a relay through normally closed control the window? It just doesn't seem like that will work. I don't know what else to try. I was hoping to find a wire that read 0 until the window went down.

Yeah, I know there is a relay box at the back. I'd have to find a way to run a wire all the way to the back and into the tailgate. I also don't think there is room for two relays back there.

Not sure if this helps, but there is some slight room next to the relay.
Just depends on how large the relay you want to install is.

Yeah, thanks. I've been back there a couple of times to replace the door lock motor...huge PITA. It would be two SPDT relays, one for up and one for down.
