I bought a 2009 4Runner about a month ago and apparently it has a remote start on it. It will start up on it's own sometimes after I lock it and I've had it startup while I was cleaning it with the doors open . To shut it off I just press the brake pedal. What I'd like to know is did Toyota offer a remote start as an option? I talked to a Toyota dealer and he seemed to think I had an after market system in it. I can't find any after market box mounted under the hood or under the dash.
