Remote Starter Help

So my subscription to my aftermarket Drone Mobile alarm ran out recently and due to certain circumstances I have to allocate that renewal money for something else for a couple of months before I can re-up.

Anyway with the app, it used to be one tap on the phone with a corresponding 2 chirps from the truck and viola car started.

Now I have to do it via the remote and for the life of me I can't get the alarm not to go off every time. I'm sure my neighbors are loving my horn/siren blaring and lights flashing at 5am daily....
Right now I start with locked/alarmed car.
Using toyota non smart remote
-Press lock once
-Press lock once more within a second of first press
-Press and hold lock 3 secs
Car starts but alarm goes bonkers

Should I be using some other key sequence? Should I use the aftermarket fob? Is there a way to get it to chirp/flash less during the sequence? Main concern is just not tripping the alarm...

New 5th gen owner. I have have it for a month and a half and curious. Does it have remote start stock? 2014 sr5

You can get a factory module installed and programmed for remote start. I went and got an aftermarket 2-way remote start system installed for a farther range.

Im thinking there is one installed. I will be doing research on this.
I think you have to press the lock button 3 times for the factory system, if it's installed, for it to turn it on. I have a Limited and mine didn't have that option.

I have the same starter. On my key fob it's Press lock once, then press and hold lock. I've had the alarm go off before like you're describing. I couldn't tell what I was doing to trigger it.

Factory remote start does work. The key fob range is very short range. We have it. Used it one time in a year. The limited range makes the factory remote start near useless.

The sequence should be lock, lock, lock. Don't hold on the last.

Thanks! Have to do it quick and authoritatively but the short third lock press did the trick!

The aftermarket solves a lot of the range issues. Drone has some impressive range on the fobs and with the app you use a cellular connection so it's basically unlimited range.

Never knew there was a factory remote start for the 5th gen..

any way to add this system if it didn't come on mine?
