Remote Starter Issues: Turns off after 10 seconds

Hello guys,

So I hired a guy to install a bunch of stuff including and alarm and remote starter. I am having issues and the guy says he installed it correctly and it must a programming issues which is my responsibility not his (among a bunch of other issues...). Needless to say, he is never getting work or referrals from me again.

Here is the issue. I can start the car remotely, but after about 10 seconds the car turns off and the remote shows a 'Engine Stop' message. I have taken a video here: 4Runner Autopage c3-rs730 Remote Start Issue - YouTube

did he install a bypass for the transponder key? something like the pkall or toyota/lexus bypass. also check page 20 on the manual, its something related to tach/ rpm learning. im sure he install the key bypass, thats why the truck cranks. but now it needs to learn tach signal or rpm.

Yes we used an immobilizer. And I think you are right on that RPM or tach reading. I don't think he programmed that right. I am not sure how to proceed from here...

And another thing I just noticed. The auto window down on the driver side window doesn't work anymore. I have to hold the button. Any idea why that may be?
 
Read the procedure carefully on page 20, on the auto window, key in on, open the window down and hold for 5 secs, then lose and hold for 5, this should normalize the window, do it to all windows including the tailgate.

Thanks I fixed the auto windows.

I know how to program the alarm/starter. I was able to change the starter button and how long I want it to run. Just not sure what I am supposed to be selecting. I do not understand all the options ect.
 
u need to program it to read the tach signal or rpm signal, then after the alarm itself sees that during the program, the truck should just remote start and stay on and not cut off. you can always ask your local audio shop if they can help.
 
RPM LEARNING / TACHOMETER CHECKING TYPE
1. Turn the Ignition switch ‘ON/OFF’ 3 TIMES and stay in OFFposition.
2. Push the Valet switch 11 times and hold it on the 11th pushuntil five chirps with a long chirp is hearing then release the valet
switch.
3. Press and release the transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons at the same time once to set the “Tachometer Checking Type”. [1] LED
flash, [1] chirp(4 chirps if Data Buss connection us programmed), to confirm this setting.
4. Press and release the UNLOCK transmitter button once, [1] LED flash, [1] chirp to indicate your are in features “RPM Learning
mode”.
5. Start the vehicle with the key. (While the engine is running, the parking & LED will flash, If don’t, please check tachometer
White/Red wire connection.(H6/10)
6. Press and hold the valet switch for 2 seconds until a long chirp and the LED light constant for two seconds. The RPM signal
is learned.
7. Turns off the ignition switch to stop the engine running.
Once you complete step 7, you can adjust and test “Check Level” as below:

THANK YOU! I programmed it using the RPM mode. I was just scared to do it or I guess overwhelmed was a better word. I did it and it works great now!
 
I turned it on and let it run for 20 minutes. Then I turned it off and on about 10 times at varying distances.

I need to run it in a test mode also?
 
do it starts normal with the key?
redo the rpm learning, then after that theres a test for it to make sure it works. read the manual again and follow up on the instructions after the rpm learning mode on page 22 i think.
 
remote starter starts but shuts off after 5 sec

Hi,
I have a Command Start CS2381TW remote starter installed on my car. Recently, it starts the car but shuts off the engine after 5 sec or so.
Any body have an idea? any body knows where I can find it's installation manual?
