Removed Running Boards

I love my 4runner (2004 silver titanium) to death, so much better than the 4 Jeeps I have had before, and even better than my wife's 2003 MDX (in my opinion), but it (my 4runner) is not a good looking vehicle. I would love to do something to help it but am not sure how to not make it look like a pickup truck with a cab on it (pinstripe it, black body strip, etc)?

I really like the silver tubes that they shipped the early 4th gens with. My grandparents have then on a RAV4 and they look very sporty. Most importantly, they do not get in the way of entering and exiting the vehicle! :nono:

You think? You see the smittybilt nerf bars on my truck? They are a pain in da okole. Each time I go offroadin, I MUST wash off the mud and da crud off da bars cause if not, then my uniform will have a brownish line on my back leg when I go for work. Over all I think my bars will not or minimum protect my doors from being dinged by dingbat who slams their door on other cars. For da same price I would get me some custom sliders made, extended on da side so that if some idiot bang their door on my truck, they will get the dent instead.

Looks pretty good but I think I'll keep mine on. It does get my pants dirty and are a bitch to clean but as an earlier post stated, they come in handy for scraping mud off when getting into the truck.
