Removing Map Light Console

Searched around and can't quite seem to figure out how to remove this thing. Not the sunglass holder the entire unit. Do I literally just "pull" it out? Just wanted to make sure not to trash it trying to remove it.

NOT.

Pull from the front by the windshield first. Both the metal clips on my old one either broke or came off up inside the roof area. there are tabs in at the rear of it and if you pull that side out first you will break them and then you're effed. If you are replacing the bulbs you don't want to take it out. If that's what you are doing slip a small screw driver in between the lens and the base at the hinge, you'll see where and very gently pry them out. Apparently the lenses are not available as parts, you have to buy the whole unit.

Thanks iBison. I accidently pushed one of the light switches into the roof while replacing the bulb so I just need to retrieve it and hook it back up.

"Remove roof console box assembly.
Open the sunglass holder and grasp the interior of the box while using a screwdriver to pull down on the windshield side of the box. You will need to pull down very firmly to release the two clips here. Once the clips release, pull the box towards the windshield to disengage the 3 claws."

Might as well do the Maplight Mod while you are in there.
