Removing one of the 3rd row seats

Is it possible to just remove one of the third row seats as opposed to both? I'm looking at putting a fridge slide in and would like to keep one of the third row seats.

Looks like they are separate.

Fridge slide with 3rd row

I thought about this too but ultimately just decided to install the fridge slide on the drivers side using tie downs connected to the 2nd row and the 2 tie downs toward the rear of the cargo area. It was an easier/cheaper option than trying to level out the area left by the missing seat below the trim. I don't think you lose any useable cargo space either unless you plan to build a cabinet with a drawer above your fridge. The fridge is still stable like this, even full with the slide pulled out. This leaves the passenger side 3rd row full accessible.

I would be more interested in carving out a mechanism to allow the fridge to go below seat level... This way I can 1. hide the fridge from clear visibility and enticing someone to break into my care. 2. gain top space

Only 4 bolts hold each section of the 3rd row seat in. Either side can easily be removed. I removed both of mine and use the space for storage. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/173756-my-3rd-seat-removed-storage-pictures.html You will have to figure out how to deal with the very rear carpeted section seen in one of the pictures with a screwdriver holding it up. I ended up removing that section and made plywood sections to replace it.

Actually this sounds interesting...probably 4-6 times a year I get every seat taken 1-3 rows

Either side or both can be easily removed. They are 2 individual seats each weighing about 50 lbs. The inside part of the seat belt is attached to the frame of the seat so no seat belt bolts to deal with. Also there are no electrical connectors

You can. The only thing to consider is how you put the finishing touches. The furthermost rear panel is one piece. You would need to cut it and make a plate for the bottom of the rear quarter panel on the floor.
