I found out from the dealer that my E brake cable on my 97 4Runner with 5 speed is completely seized. I removed the bellcranks and cleaned and lubed them. ( What a job)!
I ended up buying a new cable from the dealer. Removal looks pretty easy except how to get the old cable back through the floor. Does anyone have any experience in removing it? I have the console out down to the plate that bolts onto the floor with 4 bolts. These cables have an end that when pushed through the floor when installing, the end spreads out kinda like a wall anchor. If anyone knows the way to remove please reply. Thanks for your help.
