Removing Spare with TPMS

Hello,

Just a quick question about swapping my spare with a new one that doesnt have a TPMS stem. When I remove my spare wheel, will the TPMS light come on because it won't register anymore?

Thanks,

Yes, it will.

I believe you can program it out of the TPMS system. When I added a new set of wheels, I had to "relearn" the new OEM sensors. When doing so, I believe the Autel TPMS tool I was using gave me the option to use all 5 sensors or just 4 sensors. I didn't try it with 4 but assuming that option was valid, you should be able to program it out of the system. Maybe someone else can confirm.

I have an Autel MaxiTPMS TS501 but it doesn't offer the option to only record & store four wheels. It prompts for five wheels.

I have an Autel TS508. You can proceed without a spare.

It will prompt you to scan all 4 corner wheels, then the fifth (spare.) When it prompts you scan the spare, just move 20ft+ away from the car, and trigger the scan. After some time, it will error out, and then allow you to proceed forward without the spare; to the OBD programming process.

I did the above to get my 4 new sensors programmed into the ECU. I do not have a spare on the truck currently, and I have no TPMS light.
