repaint

recently repainted my bumper and trim and roof in black bedliner, was so happy with result I'm thinking of redoing whole care in paint, have a spray gun already, just a few questions... I have some chips with rust spots, do I just sand and prime or do I need to place a rust preventer prior to painting? hopefully not as I covered spots on roof after sanding back to metal with bedliner. advantage of bedliner roof though is no worry from scratches when loading it up. how hard is it to repaint vehicle, I found the fenders and trim was easy easy but I just rough sanded and used bedliner..... ill post pics as soon as I figure out how to later...

I would think you would be fine with sanding and priming them. I cannot speak about repainting an entire vehicle as I am not that brave. I'm always afraid it'll look worse after I finish than what I started with.

I would recommend using a rust converter after sanding, but as long as you get all the rust removed you should be fine, but I would at least use a primer before finishing with the bed liner, bare metal is not the best base for a final coat/s.

If you're happy with the results of what you've refinished so far the rest should come out just as well, just make sure you get an even coating on the final coat/s.
