Replace 03 Limited lighted running boards

My "new" 03 Limited has rusting and almost broken running boards. They have the built in lighting. Couldn't find exact answers using SEARCH and browsing:

1) is there an aftermarket board with similar lighting that uses the same lighting wire/harness and bolts on to the same attachment points? Don't want to drill new holes or rewire;

2) if I just remove them are there open holes to fill? What happens to the light wiring?

3) is there anywhere to source used or new replacement oem running boards that I can reinstall and hook up?

Your advice appreciated!

Have you tried a dealer for new OEM ones?
Or a salvage yard for used ones?
If not, that would be the obvious place to start.

Dealer quoted about $750each or 1500/pair. Uh, no thanks. Found some at a distant salvage yard $200 each usd, with shipping and CDN dollar I don't know if I want to do that either. So back to questions:

- any aftermarket ones that bolt on using same holes with no drilling
- any aftermarket ones that have the lights and use the light harness
-if I just take them off is the harness sticking out, any holes that need filling in
-anyone with a limited that has non-rusted ones with the lights that they'd like to sell?

Thx

1. Most sliders will use the original holes
2. No.
3. Harness does stick out but easy to tuck away. No holed need filling in.
4. Best bet is salvage yards. Just keep looking, theres someone that will sell them lower than $200 each.

You can remove them pretty easily. Just unplug the wiring and unbolt them. You will likely have to cut the bolts off due to rust or they may just break when you try to remove them. The wire is only about 5-6 inches long and can be left hanging. I would wrap the plug with electrical tape or a large piece of electric shrink wrap from Home Depot. Pretty easy job.

I have some but Im in the us.

For me I just put shrink tube over the oem connector and then attached it up inside the frame.
