Replace side mirror cap or entire assembly

When I was leaving my parents house, I saw that my side mirror cap went missing. There was no damage to the mirror glass or anywhere surrounding. I don’t know if another car came by and knocked off the cap or if somebody purposely vandalized it.

Do you think I can order a new mirror cap or if I need to get an new shell or assembly. It looks like the one of clips is broken.

I can probably put a claim through my insurance but it will be a $300 deductible.

you can buy the cap or the whole assembly on ebay. Whether or not the clip will keep the cap secure is something you will have to find out.

I severely doubt insurance would cover that. You can get the cap separately, the painted option will be more expensive

I had to replace the cover on my '13 Limited for $40 from the dealer. The covers (at least for the Limiteds) come color matched to the body paint so no need to paint them. Not worth it to go through insurance.
