Replaced cv axle.. Getting a rubbing noise.

Sounds like the brake pad is stuck on the rotor only I didn't remove the rotor/caliper. I have to take it back out anyway to replace the diff seal but can't figure out what is rubbing. Any ideas?

Sometimes the metal lip towards the end of the axle assembly gets bent during shipping... did you check that before installing?

I can take a pic if you need more detail.

I actually used the same one, just rebooted it. I could have bent that seal though. Do you happen to have a part number for it? Can't find it on toyotapartsales.

Here's the inboard (differential) end of the axle assembly. That metal flange can be bent easily.

This is the outboard (hub) end... this flange is much more robust due to being formed, but could still get bent.

Might want to check the clearance on the dust shield next to the rotor.... Its easily bent, particularly when doing a CV, and could be rubbing on the rotor....
