Replaced factory radio and now alarm won't work?

2nd Gen - Replaced factory radio and now alarm/keyless entry won't work.

I replaced the factory radio in my 1995 this past weekend with an aftermarket radio, and now the factory alarm/keyless entry won't work.

Anyone know if the alarm and keyless entry are somehow connected to the factory radio? If so, any way to turn back on?

I'm about 99.9% sure that they arent in any way connected. Factory harness only has acc, constant, dash illum, and speakers. Did you hardened the harness or use an aftermarket plug n play?

I bought a wiring harness from a local stereo shop and spliced all the wires myself....everything with the stereo seems to work.

Ok, do you have a multimeter or Powerprobe? Obviously you changed the battery in your remote? When locking/unlocking alarm, under the dash, do the alarm brain "click" can you hear a relay "clicking" in other words?

Have you metered your interior AND under hood fuses? Meter ALL of them. Many of time have I metered a fuse that was blown that was designated for a dome light and it also controlled panel lights or acc. lights

Damn that sucks. I had that happen to me a few times. ONE has NOTHING to do with the other unless there is a common connection. If your work was done with the battery still connected, you could have popped a fuse. Check every single fuse if you do not know which one.

I had my trunk window stop working for me and alarm while doing my HU. Weird. Since it's an aftermarket alarm, I reset the alarm lead by fuse and pulling wire. Then everything is back to normal. Weird but crap happens when you don't do things right.

Technically speaking, while working on the car with the electronics the car battery should be disconnected. That insures if their is an accidental f-up, it will not harm anything unless you really mess up like putting a batt + lead to a ground lead then reconnect battery. LOL (Done that to my first car 98' camry n fried allot. had to rewire it bypassing the harness lol, never will do that again)
