Replacement bottle jack for 4th Gen

Our 4th gen came with no jack and tools. I have replaced the tools with a 3/8" socket wrench and a 24" extension for lowering the tire, and a 21mm socket for the lug nuts.

Now I need a jack. I want it to fit in the stock compartment. This 4Runner will likely never be lifted nor offroaded, so we just need something that can be used in the city.

Before I order something from Amazon and "hope" that it fits, I wanted to check and see if anyone knows of a specific model that will fit in the truck.

And if you have a stock jack to sell, stop reading this and PM me.

WalMart, Harbor Freight, Pep Boys, etc all have decent selections of bottle jacks, just measure your compartment.

I found a bottle jack and tools locally for $25. They are from a '98 4Runner. Anyone know if they'll work with and fit in my 2006?

I have a stock jack and bottle jack in my 07’s compartment due to my variety of uses and towing trailers. The stock jack appears to be in place with a little upward pressure to eliminate movement noise. The bottle is not noisy or I would have foam around it.

What are the measurements of the jack?
How much room do you have in your storage compartment?

They're all over Ebay if you haven't looked already. Should be able to buy a jack + tools for $75 or so.

Got super lucky and the wife came home today with a full set of jack tools. Turns out her coworker had them left over from a 4Runner she sold. I still don't know why the hell people don't leave that stuff in the truck, but at least this time we were on the receiving end of it!

I will swing by HF or somewhere similar and take a look at bottle jacks this weekend.

Found this bottle jack from HarborFreight. It will do for roadside tire changes. $17.99 before tax. Thanks, all.

If it were me the issue would be the maximum lift height of the jack. The one pictured has a max height of 15 1/8".

I believe the stock jack has a higher lift height due to the fact that it is a two-stage jack, kinda like this one: Two-stage bottle jack w/19" lift height. Not sure, however, that this one would fit in the storage compartment.

I wonder if your best bet might be to try and find a used stock jack at a bone yard somewhere.

4runnerfan is correct. I just bought the 4ton bottle jack from Harbor Freight and it does NOT lift high enough. Just an FYI for anyone considering buying the harbor freight for replacement.

i have that jack you linked to. i have a few problems with mine. i dont know if we tried to jack to much or what but after using it under the house when installing a new 4x12 the jacks screw portion is stuck half way up and every time i use the jack it leaks fluid

You messed the seal up in it, as to much pushing tonnage for the jacks use.

Had to do the same under my house, used a 20 ton jack though. No problems, listen to the whole house creak doing it.

we put a 4x4 under the thing to be able to jack more and ended up just jacking the board into the ground. it did the job is was bought for so if it has some problems now its fine. i still use the thing for lifting the truck if need be

I am looking to replace the stock jack that fit nicely in the rear compartment. I want to put the new jack in the compartment. My '05 4Runner Sport will never be on lifts, and I only want the jack to change a tire. I got a really solid bottle jack for now, but the base is too large for me to put it back there.

I would prefer the stock one, because it worked for me when I needed it and it didn't leak, etc. I see them on Ebay but they are expensive.

Does anyone have any direct experience or a specific recommendation?
