Replacement frame plugs?

Anyone have the part numbers for the plastic plugs that are in the frame?

Seems some 4Runners come with plugs and others do not, so not sure they are really needed.

There are lots of generic plugs available at auto parts stores and some hardware stores. There are a number of different sizes on the 4Runner depending on the hole size.

I was replacing a few that I broke when taking them out:

90950-01984 - round
90950-01A09 - round with number 19
90950-01987 - rectangular with number 4

There is a kit with all of them in one bag. It's a lot cheaper to buy them in kit than individually. Ask at parts counter.
I used this Tacoma kit which has plenty of useful plugs: Plug Kit - Toyota (04002-07104)

Do they serve a purpose? Given the number of holes that don't have plugs ... I'd think more air circulation would be better?

Keep water and road salt out of the boxed frame, where rust will eventually eat its way through.

Call me ghetto, but I actually use gorilla tape covered with RTV on frame and body holes that lose their plugs. Seem to last a long time in my desert+alpine environment, and easy to remove if needed.

That part number seems to work only for SET (South East Toyota) dealers, so it may be a SET number only.

It does not work on the national Toyota parts web site (parts.toyota.com) nor my local dealer's parts look up.

Just placed an online order with McGeorge Toyota for frame plug kit 04002-07104, total cost shipped with tax = $46.53
Will install these in my frame this spring/summer once I'm comfortable the inside of frame has dried out from winter and power washing. Will install each with a dab of RTV to insure a watertight fit.
