Replacement Tires

Just inherited the 2004 SR5 I got for my wife years ago. I got her a new car, so I'm in the 4Runner now.

She put 62K on the truck. I need tires. Strictly street. I understand the Michelins (Cross-Tracs? not sure if that's right) that came on the vehicle are no longer available. I'm looking at B.F. Goodrich Long Trail T/A Tours and a couple other brands.

Wondering if anyone in here has had particularly good or bad experiences (mileage, wet handling) with Long Trails or whatever tires you slapped on your 4Runner.

Wow! So nobody's ever had to replace their original tires?!

Amazing. In addition to trouble-free performance, potential 4Runner owners can also look forward to infinite mileage out of their initial set of tires.

I'm disgusted that I only got 62,000 outta my Michelins.

For on-road use, i recommend:

michelin cross-terrain
michelin LTX M/S
bridgestone dueler H/L
bridgestene dueler REVO
yokohama geolander HT-S
goodyear fortera series
firestone destination A/T

You have plenty of choices...it just depends on what is available in your area and what your price range is.

Thanks. The Cross-Terrains have been great. However...

Slappin' a set of BF Goodrich Long Trail T/A Tours on it today. Will report back on 'em at some point.
