Replacing Air Filter Box

Anything I should look out for in replacing the air filter box, or special considerations removing the intake's connectors and stuff? Seems straightforward. I have to replace it with a used intake system because my metal clips broke off.

Well the deckplate mod requires removal of it, I would go ahead and follow the numerous tutorials on that, and do the deckplate mod while you're at it, since it is fun to do, sounds great, and adds 50hp!

More like 100 HP IMO. Maybe more!

But it does make it sound fun.

Don't forget about the torque gains as well! some say...upwards of 100+ ft/lbs.

but in all honestly...replacing the intake box is probably one of the easiest things you can do. You will need a 12mm (or 10mm...cant remember) socket and ratchet with a long extension and some pliers and screwdriver.

Plug the holes on the bottom of the box with some RTV or silicone. There's three of them.

Why not?

If you're deep enough to get water into your air box through the intake tube in the fender, chances are you've already got water in your air box, saturating your filter.

Gives you about an inch or more clearance before the water starts entering your intake.

Plus, you don't want those there if you're going to be running a snorkle.
