If you are planning on doing this, and everything in your old system is not ruined, I'd love to maybe buy your old speakers off of you. My truck had the JBL system in it, but took it out in favor of the equivalent of cell phone speakers. PM me if you are interested.

With the JBL amp in there I feel like that could make things a bit more complicated than your average speaker replacement.

I am actually making more work for myself than I think I should have-

I COULD have just used the existing wires that came out of the JBL to the stock speakers.

I just decided to gut and replace everything-


So having said that...
I have ALL speakers including JBL amp, 8inch sub and stock plastic enclosure 4 6.5 inch door speakers,5 tweeters all intact and have little use and no abuse from my adult owned non-smoked in 2005 4Runner-

For me its taking my time to GENTLY take the panels off for the doors so I dont break or bend anything-

Its easy when you have access to the speakers- its getting that access thats tough and like you say time consuming-

I totally hear ya!! EVENTUALLY I'll be replacing all 10 speakers (not looking forward to it)...............when it comes to mods/maintenance/etc, I take my time with my runner too.......I wasn't like that when I had my Grand Cherokee... Good luck!

Thanks man---It is definitely a process- I am also Dynamatting everything too--
