Replacing Frame on 3rd generation T4R?

What is involved with doing this type of project? Is it costly to have done? If I were going to take a good body from a bad frame & swap it to a new frame, is this expensive?

It's been done (The Durk did it) but it is a ton of work. If you paid a shop to do it, plan on it costing several thousand dollars. It is a very labor intensive job but it can be done.

If you do it yourself and have the equipment to do it, I can't imagine that it would cost too much minus the stuff that is going to break and/or needs to be replaced.

How bad is the frame? Many frames can be saved but that will also cost some money if you can't do it yourself.

Depending on the shop, I wouldn't be shocked to see a bill of $6k+ to have them strip two and reassemble one, leaving you with another one in pieces to have to take care of... And even that would likely be optimistic.

Doing it yourself is a different story. We all need projects.

If I were to do this I'd buy a used 2 post lift & do it myself. They are amazingly cheap on Craigslist. Shops upgrade all the time. You could buy another rig from the SW for what a shop will charge you.

Crane ? You can easily lift that with a lull. Just rig it properly. Crane here.... depending on the size. I think it's like $2k-3k a day with operator. If you have high seilinfs with a good size beam across. Could use a gantry crane set up.
