replacing muffler myself tomorrow...tips? tricks?

Im replacing my muffler tomorrow on my 3rd gen with a CherryBomb Vortex...

any of you who have done this, have any tips, and input that might help save time, frustration?

Just have patience, WD40 and keep the kids away as you curse and try to loosen the bolts from the rear section. It may be easier with the spare dropped out of the way. Good luck!

Well, as I've gotten carpal tunnel this week, I just could NOT bring myself to doing this...as my left arm/hand is pretty much useless...

took it to my muffler guy and paid $40 for install...

and $40 for a NICE chrome resonator tip (3.5")...

pics would be essential for me in such a thread. my ride has a simple black muffler and i've been wanting to fit a slightly "sportier" sounding one with a chrome tip but don't know where to start.

Go with EITHER a flowmaster 40 for loud, 50 for a quieter sound but a noticeable difference, or a vortex by cherrybomb which is what i got...

in most reviews, the cherrybomb won...at idle its almost not even noticeable, when going from 0-35 or 40 on streets its pretty deep and on the freeway it quiets down at high speeds until you go into 4th gear and pass someone up...

The install is a simple cut, put in place, and weld...ill take pics as best I can...and the tip is a simple cut the end off and weld a tip on...looks good too ill post pics soon, but with Christmas ima be a little busy...

i ahve been looking at amuffler and dont know what to get, im debating a flowmaster 40 SERIES/ 40 SUPER or a vortex cherry bomb,


what do u guys think, i want something that is loud and noticable... and rumbles at idol, i want a bad ass sounding truck!

The Vortex is just a LITTLE too quiet at idle...something louder will rumble at idle, not this one...

other than that, it sounds REALLY good!
