On my 97 4Runner Limited V6 4WD I want to replace my original front struts and springs with Monroe "Quick Struts" strut/spring combos. Is it easy and safe? I can't find a DIY thread. Are there other parts I need to replace when I do it?

I just did this. The hard part is getting things lined up to get the lower bolt back in. I would recommend a helper with a pry bar. It is safe and the Quick Struts come with everything you need. However I am pretty disappointed with the amount of dampening provided by the shock portion of the units.

to help get the lower shock bolt back in do this. Disconnect one of the sway bar link nuts. then get your factory jack and put it inbetween the wheel well and the upper control arm. start cranking away.
the jack will put pressure on the upper control arm making the lower move with it. go as far as you need to so that it fits. works evey time!

just be sure the jack doesnt fall and smack you on the side of the head. trust me. hurts like a :lalala: :censored:
