Replacing rear rotors on back of '05 4Runner:

How difficult is this and does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations on doing this? I'd like to attempt to do this myself as I do light maintenance on the vehicle already. The cost to have it done is $80, however if it takes more than 2-3 hours of my time I'll have someone else do it. I'd really like to learn though.

You may need to adjust the parking brake a little to get the rotors off, other than that it is just like doing the fronts. When you take the wheels off you will see a small hole in the hub part of the rotor. You need to spin the rotor until you can see the little "star" nut through the hole. You can use a small flat head screwdriver to click the star up/down as needed. You just need to adjust it enough so the parking brake shoes inside aren't grabbing the rotor when you try to pull it off. Then just reverse the process to put the new rotors on and off you go.
It shouldn't take you very long to knock it out. It may take a few minutes to figure out the parking brake adjustment on the first side, but the other wheel should go really quickly.
