Replacing Side Molding on 4th Gen 06

There are 7 or 8 clips and one bolt which is
at the lower corder of the door covered by black plastic.
Remove the bolt and carefully pull the molding to unclip it.

How much did you get charged for molding?

I'm getting ready to pull all of the fender flares, rocker panels and both bumpers for Line-x application, and am just going to order all new clips.

Anyone know how many of each are needed in total?

I'm working on my '04 Titanium metallic fender flares and ordered these clips from amazon:

Amazon.com: Febrytold 100 Pcs Fender Flare Clip Kit for Toyota 4Runner Tacoma Highlander RAV4 FJ Cruiser, Replace OEM # 75495-35010 75397-35010: Automotive

They fit perfectly and its about $10 for 100 pieces.

As far as re-painting the fender flares... what a pain to have to remove them. I'm wondering if it would work to use flash cards or something like that to stuff between the flare and the body to serve as masking. Then you could sand the flares and re-paint them on the truck... not sure if it would work or not, but sounds nicer than removing all the panels.

It's hard to see but there's actually a rubber gasket between the body and flair. If you use cards you will paint gasket and it will probably crack off. I'd mask it if i wasn't removing. Also note they sell these parts pre-painted if you have the $$$

did you end up repainting all your mouldings? i'm trying to figure out how many cans of base coat and clear i should be getting to re-do all my moldings.

Hey man, no I haven't gotten to it. Been doing a bunch of other maintenance first. Ill update when I do. I found a box of 6 cans of color-match paint on Amazon, so I just bought that (should be plenty). Its Duplicolor and I bought the matching Duplicolor clear coat that Amazon recommends (3 cans of that).
