Ok so i can buy a replica key on amazon and go to a hard ware store? That will probably save me about 200 usd...

#$%^& Keys

The key has a chip in it with a unique code. Some hardware stores will supply a key without the remote functions and program it with a code that matches your key. This is cloning and is the easiest way.

Next is to buy a key, get it cut and program it yourself. A lot of messing around but it can be done. Have a look at an old post of mine ---

and search for other posts about getting a spare key.

That quote seems appropriate, but I sweet talked the service manager into doing it for free. Might want to buy the software and program it yourself - I believe a lot of guys have went that route, too.
