Reset computer after window replacement?

I just had the passenger side window changed.
I was told I need to take it to Toyota to set the computer on it.

Now the window always goes down.

I have no heard of this before. Can I reset it myself

If you window is sliding up and down, why would you want to "reset" or in other words, mess withthe computer? Don't touch it!!

Who told you that? They're someone that shouldn't be allowed near your 4 Runner.

i believe there is a "pressure" adjustment in the door for the window. my passenger window got busted by a thief and the glass they replaced it with must be slightly larger....because now the auto-up feature rolls the window back down half-way...

looks like that FSM link is dead. Could you tell me how you fixed this? I have the same issue.

Found some videos saying to hold the window up switch for 2-5 sec. after the window is up, and also do the same for down position, but that didn't work for me.

I have the same issue after I converted from manual to powered windows. Hoping there’s a solution in the FSM. Maybe we just have to ask the dealership.

I urge all 4Runner owners to get a real, paper FSM for the model year they own.
I'll try to upload what appear to be the relevant pages from the 2000 FSM that's been commonly available online. Electrical things changed over the years so this 2000 FSM may/may not apply to a 1999 model. Personally, I use a paper copy for my '97.

Seriously, push down on the button and the window goes down. Lift the button up and the window goes up. Simple. Why in the world get a computer involved? The more computer control, more that can go wrong.

Ha! I hope I can get away with never owning a software car, but the longer we all live, the less likely that is.
