resistor question

so i have the smoked led tails for my 3rd gen '01, and i purchased l.e.d. bulbs for the turn signals so they are clear in the housing when off, but they dont draw enough power, so they blink all super fast since the system thinks they are off.

any idea what kind of resistor, or if there is something else i should use to be able to get these bulbs to work accordingly? and do i just have to splice the wires and install the resistor in the original wiring harness?

thanks!

Some are unsuccessful about the blinker fix. Yes, there are suggested resistance values and connection instructions for the load resistor, for example in here:

You can check this also

You can email this guy if his problem has already been solved:

And before ordering those $10 each resistor, try those wirewound resistors from Radioshack @ $2/pair for trial and error purposes. Just follow the connections from the website above. Hoping the resistor trick will work in your case.

thanks for all of the info Borg. im looking at the new relay more and more seeing as how from what the other t4r owner posted, the resistors have not been doing their jobs accordingly, plus if i purchase the new relay for the turn signal fix, and it has no affect, i shall just return/ exchange them for other l.e.d.s for other purposes, and i wont have a jumble of resistors and such all over the place.

thanks for the info, bookmarked all the links i need and i will report back in about 2 weeks when i have everything done :D
