Resistor Value

Ebay sellers are selling resistors to put into the 4runner engine bays to increase hp. I was wondering if anyone knew the resistor value and how well it works. Thanks

Resistors in black-boxes have been around for a long time. Some of them trick the coolant temperature or mass flow sensor to make the engine run richer than normal. Most claim up to 20 hp increase. Hog-wash. It takes over a well over $ 1000 to get that kind of hp and usually involves changing the intake and complete exhaust system and sometimes even more components. And then there is the compromise factor. Usually when one characteristic increases another one decreases. Mostly it

I have seen the resistor for the 3.4 liter rated at 47K ohms.
This will ritchen up the mixture somewhat
but wont give you anywhere close to the power advertised
