Reverse Traction

As i was backing out of my driveway (over a very rainy day) I accidentally pushed my accel. down and a car was coming. I slammed the brakes and the runner skidded about 1/2 foot. Now is it normal for this to happen and none of my safety lights go off?

I see that you have a 2x4. If I recall correctly, 2x4 4Runners have a traction control switch under the steering column, where you can turn traction control on and off. Was your traction control on when this happened?

2X4's dont have the traction switch! The only different thing i Believe is that we have the LSD on the left.

I believe the parking brake self-adjusts when backing up. Maybe they disabled the ABS system to prevent the parking brake to adjust incorrectly?
