Reversible blackout that won't look like crap?

I've got the 2020 TRD off-road in red, but I don't love the silver/grey pieces mainly at the front and back (though I'm not sure I want to black out every other aspect of chrome)

Is there a solution that paints/makes it black that
a) Won't look like crap
b) Can be undone IF I end up not liking it?

I don't like black on red (my dislike for blacked out parts is well documented here) and I think it will look like crap if you do that. In my not so humble opinion either leave it silver and shiny (best) or have a professional auto body shop squirt it red to match.

Interesting... I mean, yeah I'm not sure though I'm also not crazy on looks regardless.

But, at least in pics, this one SEEMS to look nicer than the silver :)

and I almost feel like the full-red looks... worse. Not that there is much nice shape to the 4runner, but the solid color doesn't help :(

You could have it wrapped in “chrome” over even a different color of red or the shiny yellow “chrome” that looks like “gold”
 
You could have them vinyl wrapped at a shop for approximately 100 each.
They could probably match your red.
 
I replaced mine with the OEM black pieces from the TRD Pro. You have to remove the bumpers to install due to the plastic clips holding the panels in place, but you'd likely need to do that to wrap them properly or have them painted anyway.

If I ever choose to go back (not sure why i would), I can just swap back to the silver panels.

Going this route, I don't really worry so much about rocks chipping away paint/vinyl to reveal silver underneath.

Black it out. Silver and/or chrome should have gone out in the 70's.
