RevTek/Tuff Country from Les Schwab

I went out to get quotes for a lift to fit 285/70/17's under my 2004 SE V8 4X4. Les Scwab will install a Tuff Country 2.5" for $500. I could pay more for a Revtek ($800). So with parts, install, tires, alignment, balance, tax....out the door for $1555. And that is for Dick Cepek's or Toyo MT's! All I hear about on this site is Cornfed. Does anyone have experience with either of these lifts?
I think they are both spacer lifts and include shocks for the rear.
After reading the threads, I have doubts that the tires won't rub. I guess the Spidertrax fix this problem but LS did not mention this. I am sure Les Schwab knows what they are doing since they are a huge company and have probably installed hunderds of these lifts.
My other concern is having unknown problems rear their heads once I put the bigger tires on. With traction control/ABS/Locking Diffs/AWD.......I find it hard to believe that everything still functions properly when you change the tires so dramatically. The toyota mechanic at the dealership highly recommended that I do not make these changes.
I would appreciate any help that I get.

I wouldnt worry about what your dealer said. It really depends on the dealership and how they feel about aftermarket stuff. Here is a picture of what my local dealer did to a brand new '06 SR5...

3" Revtek lift and 285 Wrangler MT/R but they did have to put aftermarket rims on to avoid serious rubbing. I have installed a 3" Cornfed lift and have upsized to 265/70 tires and have had no problems with any of those issues you mentioned. Lots of people on here have upsized to 285's on here and have not had any issues as well. If you want to keep the OEM wheels you will most likely have to put wheel spacers on, though I remember seeing someone on here that did get 285 BFG's to fit without rubbing the UCA. Most have to either put wheel spacers on or get new wheels. My next set of tires will be 285's and I'm not really worried about it. My dealership even did my alignment after I installed the lift and they installed my new tires with no problems.

$800 for an installed Revtek kit does seem kind of high to me, especially since you wont be able to use the longer rear shocks that comes with their kit due to the Xreas system on your SE. They do sell a spacer only kit and it should be around $350 I believe. My local offroad shop wanted $250 for the install and I just ended up installing it myself.

There are several members on here that have Revtek kits installed and I remember one who as the Tuff Country kit as well.

You are going to have to do some trimming to get 285's to fit on your truck, wheels spacers or not. You will lose the mudflaps and have to trim the little triangles on the front as well. There have been several threads about this on here.
