I Linexed my sliders (installed on a 2000 Taco Xcab back in 2001). I really liked the way that they looked. They were very grippy for standing on to get into and out of the rig. But, they aren't super protective. While doing the Lockard Basin trail between Moab and Canyonlands, I slid into a small boulder. the sliders protected the truck's side, just like they were supposed to, but the rock ripped the Linex right off them.
I would do it again just for the non-slip issue when standing on them.

Thats kinda what i thought.. I aint driving over any rocks. The idea of actually doing that sounds like fun, but i am not that kind of Runnerer... I am mostly a light trail, beach driving kinda of driver.. I do like the looks so that is where i am going.. The grip/standing on factor is what i am after.. not for nothin they will be mounted pretty close to body of the truck anyhow so they might not get too much use in the standing on dept- which will also make them last longer.
