Yeah, I've seen those tracks before. Guys think they can turn their truck into a snow machine in the winter...problem is there is waaayy took much weight/track area and the truck just sinks in the snow.

Ken Block seemed to think it was a good idea on his Raptor. They are mainly for snow. The only thing I dont get is how the guy says hes got 20K in mods. Im pretty sure he's still running factory suspension.

Snow makes some sense, but it's not like it's going to float on top of the snow weighing over 4,000 lbs. Plus steering must be downright terrible with it, I can't imagine it working very well. I think having it is 4WD would make it even worse since it'll just want to go dead straight!

Definitely creative, but downright impractical in my mind. Snowmobiles are so much more fun!

Agree. I can't imagine a tracked vehicle without one-side braking. I don't think that's enough surface area to support that weight on unpacked snow.

Plus, if you hit a hidden rock, stump or whatever with the leading edge, it won't be pretty.

Just a dumb idea.

Those tracks have 10 times the footprint as tires.
They work well in snow, muskeg etc.
Popular in some places.
