Rigid 40" E2 Powder Coating Coming Off

Anyone else seen this or had it happen? Does not effect functionality at all, it happened during our return trip from Moab, 16hrs in the midwest rain at 80mph - When we got back i thought it was something from trees stuck in there that had gotten damp but washed the truck tonight and got a closer look......

Just wondering if this is a unique case, I see they have a 2 year warranty on PC, not sure if things like this would be covered, and I have got to be close to the 2 year mark but figured i'd run it by the forum.

Edit: I did contact Rigid Warranty department so we will see what they say, from my PM box it looks like the group buy order was placed on 5/17/15......so technically outside the warranty timeframe so if they are willing to do something it will be in good faith Update: They are willing to work with me on this, I don't have a final resolution as its Memorial Day weekend but incase I forget to update they at least appears to be willing to help, top notch Customer Service so far

A bit disconcerting to see this. I'm looking at a 40" and a 28" RI spot/flood combo. I hope this is just a one-off incident.

I wouldn't worry about this, from what I can tell its def. a one off/rare incident and Rigid has already said they are willing to work with me even though I am outside the warranty period. So far its been a painless experience. That said, I have been fairly vocal that no one NEEDS a rigid product and while IMHO they are quality items you are paying a premium for the name. I was in a great group buy but I would unlikely pay MSRP for a rigid light and would go a more moderate direction (GG lighting as an example) and then spend the money elsewhere

I am dumbfounded as to the cause though, The only thing I can think of is the rain , yet I have had the light for over 2 years and driven in countless rain and snow storms.

Thanks for your contributions

well when something is not made the right way it's usually junk. I would have to say the metal was not cleaned correctly and therefore the paint did not adhere to it. junk junk overpriced junk with an over advertised name. craftsmanship is something to behold, even if you had to pay for it. powder coating is not that complicated. except for powdercoaters they all seem to have sniffed to many fumes, painters are generally a different breed.

There we go! I hear what you are saying and will not deny that Rigid products are overpriced but to call a product junk based on one event , from a single light that still functions 100% designed is a bit........:bash:

well to be honest i should have been a little more forthcoming with my junk statement . I was really just talking about the paint job and the price that reaches so deep into your pocket. everybody wants as much of your money as they can get, well i say give me the quality, that's all I want, first time perfection. AT that point the price becomes less important when quality is imperative. I make things for people and I get a little peeved when I buy something and either it doesn't last like it should or preform like it should. Im just sayin.
